Trang Attractions:
Coastal Topography
Adjacent to the western
part of Thailand where 6 provinces, which are Ranong, Phuket,
Pang-Nga, Krabi, Trang and Stun, situated lay Mianmar, Andaman
Sea and Malaca Strait of the Indian Ocean. This coastline is open
for the southwest monsoon especially from May to September, during
when it is quite the stormy season of the year.
The
coastlines with no islands to keep the wind off have steep beaches
with deep sea near the shores. Those with islands around the
beaches or those with gulfs not fully open to monsoon contain
muddy soil and are filled with muddy woods along the coasts
such as Red and Black mangrove.
Significant rivers where the cargo coasters can pass into are
Kraburi and Trang. Various salty canals have been developed
from canals and streams that flow into the sea when the tide
is rising.
Along
the coastal lines located more than 200 small islands. Most
of them are steep and rocky islands. Several of them are isolated
rocky towers, which are not appropriate for dwellings. This
coastal side contains two important ports. Phuket Port is the
natural port where cargo ships have anchored for loading/unloading
since ancient times. Gan Tang Port lines on Trang River and
Gan Tang Canal. The territorial sea joint between Trang and
Krabi is lined up with various small and big islands one after
another, especially at the Lanta Islands National Park in Krabi,
where the exquisite islands like Rok Island and Ngai Island
are situated.
The Had Chao Mai National Pak in Trang stand the attractive
islands like Mook Island and Kradan Island. These two islands
are connected in order that the travelling packages of the two
provinces can be merged as one. There is a long beach on the
west side of the Lanta Yai Island where various private bungalows
are rendered. The Morakot Cave of the Mook Island is the place
where the tourists have to dive through the dark cave into the
oval inner sea which is exquisitely beautiful. Ngai Island,
Kradan Island and Rok Island have the white and clean beaches
with crystal clear and colorful sea water.
Talay
Trang is reputed as the most beautiful and colorful skin-diving
site, especially at Kradan Island, Waen Island, Chuak Island,
Mook Island and Rok Island. Inspecting the natural wonder at
Morakot Island and Mook Island where the oval inner sea with
splendid beaches and forests can be found beyond the dark cave
is another alternative. Otherwise, admiring the
shallow coral reefs erected when the water recedes at Kradan
Island is also another interesting option.
