Koh Kradan is an Island not all that far from the small city of Trang in
Southern Thailand. Trang is a seaport around 1,000 KM or so south of the big
apple, Bangkok. The city (Trang) was developed mostly from rubber plantations.
Kradan is widely thought of as one
of the area's most beautiful beaches and sports an abundance of coral.
It is is suitable for surfing when conditions
are right. Kradan is largely undeveloped as a tourism destination and I for one
think this is one of its most charming aspects.
The island is noted also for its wonderful sandy beaches. Kradan lies within
the boundaries of Hat Chao Mai National Park; about 20 percent of the land is
covered with privately owned rubber and coconut plantations. Kradan Island is
famous for its fine powdery sand and wide beaches as well as crystal-clear
water.
These many thousands of colorful fish make the underwater world ideal for
snorkeling or diving. To get to Kradan Island, it takes about one hour and forty
minutes by boat from Pakmeng Beach. Lots of folks make the trip from this island
and others in the form of day trips to view the natural wonders of Kradan. You,
on the other hand are there for the duration and will have plenty of opportunity
to enjoy the peace, quiet and harmony with mother nature.
The Eastern side of Kradan features Yang Long Beach, while the western side is
rich with coral reefs teeming with fish of different species and shades. Nature
lovers will find the pristine beauty of the island to their liking and skin
divers will find the coral reefs a wonderful place to explore the beauty of the
underwater world.
