Krabi
Attractions: Ao Nang
It is located approximately 6 kms. from Hat Noppharat Thara. There
are 83 small islands in the bay having various sizes and shapes.
A boat trip for a sightseeing tour can be made through Ao Nang
Village. The attractions in Ao Nang are Hat Rai Le, Hat Phranang,
Tham Phranang, Sa Phranang, Ko Poda, Ko Thap, etc.
Wat Khlong Thom Museum
Situated within the precincts of Wat Khlong Thom between Km. 69
- 70 on Phetchakasem Highway, one kilometer from Khlong Thom District
Office, the museum features various kinds of artifacts discovered
during excavations within an
area
called "Khuan Luk Pat"
or a bead mound behind Wat Khlong Thom.
The discoveries include
stone tools, stone and earthen ornaments in the shapes of animals
and particularly beads from some 3,000 year ago. It is an interesting
attraction for visitors, especially those who collect antiques.
Su San Hoi or Fossil Shell
Beach
Current has been carrying a tremendous number of shells of various
types to be imbedded near the seashore in the area of Amphoe Muated
to having an approximate age of 75 million years.
Khao
Pra-Bang Khram Non-Hunting Area is located in the area of Amphoe
Khlong Thom of Krabi and Amphoe Sikao, Wang Wiset of Trang, covering
170 square kilometers. The main attractions are : Thung Tieo Forest,
at Ban Bang Tiao, 25 kms. from Khlong Thom District Office. It
is a rainforest with wild animals especially birds of various
kinds; Sa Nam Phu, a deep clearwater pool with the echo
sound and bubbled water, etc.
