Golfers beware! The scenery, beautiful shrubs and flowers and magnificent trees surrounding the fairways of Bhumibol Dam Golf Club are so beautiful they may well distract you from your game.  Located around three hours away from Chiang Mai by car, the 18-hole, 22-year-old golf course is one of Asia's finest.  The club's name reflects the fact that it lies on the lower slope of the Bhumibol Dam (named after His Majesty King Bhumibol). Although lacking in water hazards, players are faced with a variety of other shots -- across slopes, up and down bunkers, elevated tees, valley shaped fairways -- which make the course a pleasure to play on.  Chalet-style accommodation is available nearby.
