Had the pleasure(?) to visit the Ambassador Pattaya which from the moment you arrive feels like you have time traveled back to 1980’s. This huge monstrosity of a “resort” although the word resort is used loosely more like a convention hotel, apparently has over 5,000 bedrooms, needs serious refurbishment.
I think with hundreds of over resorts available in Pattaya, one would be mad to choose this as a holiday vacation, no matter what the cost (even if it was free). The hotel is located some 20 minutes away from the town centre and unless you are interested in walking around a concrete jungle there is nothing about the place which appeals.
Exception is the beach. Pattaya beaches are generally pretty poor compared to Phuket and Samui, so to actually see sandy beach with little or no rubbish washed ashore was a pleasant surprise.
