In need of a pedicure yet starving, I entered Ten Ten Salon which is located between Villa Market on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1 and Soi 35 – almost opposite the Emporium. At street level is Olive café, a casual, peaceful eatery serving fresh Greek salad, wraps and pastries. At first glance one would think it was just an eating place but the salon is up a set of stairs, far away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bangkok. The scent of candles leads the nose to the spa area where large massage chairs have water pools to soak weary feet. Attentive staff present a box of over 60 nail varnish colours to choose from while the foot therapist works her magic on the dead skin. Minutes later my chicken wrap arrives and I devour it hungrily glad I didn’t have a manicure ! Just over an hour later my feet are smooth and the bubble gum pink nail varnish sparkles. The cost of a pedicure is 500baht. They offer a whole range of treatments so next time, I will try a facial.
