Bangkok Airport Confused?

We are flying to Bangkok and afterwards Phuket. On our flights they say that we are arriving in suvarnabhumi airport, yet we fly to Phuket at Dong Muang International Airport? Is this the same airport??

Hi!

These are two different airports. Suvarnabhumi Airport is the new & main International Airport of Bangkok and Dong Maung is the older international airport. Dong Muang still has some domestic and low cost carriers departing from it's terminal.

Thai airways also has flights departing to Phuket via Dong Muang.

Both airports are roughly the same distance from the main centre of Bangkok, however, in different directions, so if you are arriving in Dong Muang for a connection at Suvarnabhumi- beware that the transfer time can take up to an hour.

We have quite a comprehensive airline schedule for those flights out of Dong Muang in our airport category.
